IT asset management

Continuous technological innovation and the ever more widespread operating rental models place companies in front of the need to manage the cyclical turnover of their asset IT: from servers to smartphones, from desktops to tablets, from firewalls to access points, from printers to video wall, everything must be ordered, inventoried, shipped, stored, configured and delivered… All activities that take away time and resources from the business.

Added to this are transfers, acquisitions, divestitures, the opening of new offices/points of sale/branches: all events in which, in addition to the already complex IT implementation issues, it is necessary to think about how to move and distribute even large volumes of material.

We place ourselves as the only interlocutor for the logistics and handling of IT assets: from small supplies to the entire data center, we offer value-added services, flexible and defined in terms of times and costs.

Together with certified partners and with a presence throughout the national territory, we manage for our customers:

Moving

It consists in the movement of a set of goods (commonly indicated with the term “asset“) from a point of origin to a destination.

Very often the asset is scattered among the environments used by the customer (as in the case of workstations, peripherals or servers) and/or across multiple geographical locations.

We carry out an inspection to identify the asset to be moved: accompanied by photographic documentation, a list is produced with the quantity, type, physically occupied volume, location of all the assets and any exceptions (for example material to be disposed of or to be transported to different destinations than to the rest).

On the basis of the data collected, other important aspects are considered then:

  • The presence of devices to de disassembled before transposition
  • The need for any reconfigurations before or after handling
  • The presence of critical routes in the collection and delivery asset (dimensions, weights, stairs and/or inacessible rooms such as to require the use of areal platforms.
  • Any municipal access restrictions to the areas affected by the movement, with consequent completion of the related bureaucratic procedures
  • Identification of any portions to be disposed of
  • Special insurance conditions in addition to the standard ones for logistics.

Once the services parameters have been collected, the time effort envisaged for the moving (with the possibility of operating 24/7) is defined together with the Client, from which the sizing of the vehicles and specialized manpower to be employed.

We provide a service manager who acts as the sole interlocutor for the customer and who will coordinate field activities, participate in the periodic SALs and take care of providing the agreed service outputs.

Staging

It consists in the hardware/software customization of massive quantities of devices according to the guidelines established by the Customer.

We carry out staging services for network equipment, peripherals and workstations by allocating specialized technicians directly at the customer’s site or at their own warehouse equipped with a dedicated technical area.

Having defined together with the Customer where to provide the service, we collect the information necessary for the sizing of the work team, for example:

  • Equipement inventory (type, brand, model and quantity)
  • Description of the customizations required
  • Ellaboration of a technical procedure, to be carried out together with the Customer on a pilot apparatus, in order to standardize the processes and set the processing times per unit
  • Time window (within X days) or expected service performances (X devices per day).
  • Any output files to be produced
  • In case of staging to be carried out at the IT.COR warehouse, definition of the total volumes in order to calculate the costs of physical occupation and permanence of the asset

Depending on the type, number and variables in the field, IT.COR adopts the solution with the best cost/benefit ratio to achieve the objective.

WAREHOUSE

In the IT sector we work with bulky equipment and there is not always space available for storage. The supply of technological material places companies having to consider the increasingly long delivery times on the one hand and the space they have to dedicate to the storage of goods on the other.

We offer the possibility of using our warehouse for medium-long term storage stops, relieving the customer of all the costs of logistic management of the goods.

Specifically we deal with:

  • receive the packing lists and the expected dates of shipment start and arrival of the goods
  • where possible, calculate the volumes of incoming goods on pallets
  • upon receipt, check that the number of packages and the type of goods correspond exactly
  • verify the integrity of the packages and, in the event of anomalies, manage the procedure for recovering the value of the damaged asset with the carrier
  • if required, carry out staging activities (see previous paragraph)
  • calculate the exact value of the goods in each single outgoing transport and arrange the adequate insurance coverage for the journey
  • if required, affix labels/codes as specified by the Customer
  • prepare the outgoing pallets/packages and the relative packing list to be affixed to them, in accordance with the Customer’s requests
  • prepare travel documentation (DDT)
